I will personally pick a few tumblrs (around 4) to be in the running for blog of the week. I will then make a poll where people can vote for you (until the end of this weekend) and whoever gets the most votes will be blog of the week for us.

What this includes is (for one weeks time):

How to make your own clip-in hair extensions:

Love clip-in hair extensions but don’t love the sizes that the extension pieces come in or are they to thin? Here’s a fairly simple way to make your extensions customized to you and your liking.

  1. Purchase hair. Do not purchase clip-in extensions that are already pre-cut and clips are sewn on. Purchase a weft of hair (you can purchase this at any Beauty Supply right with the extensions).

    2. Purchase extension clips. They’re fairly cheap at any Beauty Supply and make sure to buy as many as you think you’ll need or if you have old clip-in extensions just cut those clips off to reuse on your new clip-ins.

     3. Now figure out how long you want the pieces of your clip-ins to be. Do you want two big pieces just for the back of your head? One pieces that wraps around the whole head? 5 pieces for your whole head? How big do you want the pieces for the sides to be? etc. After figuring this out - figure out how thick you’d like each clip-in piece to be. If the hair is thin and you have thin hair one piece of extension is fine but for thicker hair maybe fold a weft of the hair in half so it can match the thickness of your hair.

    4. Now cut the pieces of the weft to match with the sizes you’d like.

    5. Here is the most time consuming part - now you’ll need a thread to match the extensions and through the soft part of the top of the extension you’ll sew the clips on using the holes that are ontop and on the sides of the clip.

    6. Once this is done, you should have extensions that are the appropriate size and thickness for you - and you did it all by yourself. No hassle of annoyingly small clip-in pieces or too thin extensions.

Hope this helps! :) xoxo
